SUBANG JAYA: Gamuda Land and Taylor's Assets have partnered to redevelop the former Taylor's College Subang Jaya campus into Haus on 15, a RM540 million mixed-use development.
Located in SS15, the project will feature residential homes, student accommodation and community lifestyle spaces.
Spanning 1.17 hectares (2.88 acres) along Jalan SS15/8A, it aims to revitalise a site that has long been synonymous with education.
This will also create a new urban destination designed around modern living, learning and community engagement.
Haus on 15 will comprise two towers rising up to 31 storeys, offering a total of 614 residential units, with the sizes ranging between 550 sq ft and 980 sq ft.
It will also include a commercial component comprising 18 units spread across three floors.
The project is targeted for completion by the first quarter of 2030.
Gamuda Land chief executive officer Gim Teck Yew said the project carries strong emotional significance for the community, noting that many stakeholders and alumni have personal connections to the site.
"What we want this place to be is somewhere people feel safe, where they form relationships and have a fulfilling life.
"Places like this enable that, and we are proud to be part of it."
He added that the development builds on Subang Jaya's longstanding role as an education hub, with an estimated 70,000 students in the wider precinct.
Taylor's Education Group executive chairman Datuk Loy Teik Ngan said the former Taylor's College Subang Jaya campus had played an important role in shaping generations of students.
"By reimagining this historic site as a vibrant student living community, we are creating an environment that enriches the educational experience.
"In doing so, we are strengthening the region's position as a preferred destination for students from around the world," he said.
Gamuda Land chief operating officer Wong Siew Lee said the units' pricing will be announced at a later stage.
The focus is on delivering quality and community value, with design elements such as enhanced green spaces, pedestrian connectivity and improved public walkways linking nearby amenities and transport nodes.
She said the construction will be carried out in phases due to the sensitive surrounding environment.
This includes nearby schools, with engagement ongoing with local stakeholders and authorities.
While a typical development timeline is around 36 months, she said the schedule may vary depending on community and regulatory considerations.
The project is designed to meet growing demand for quality student housing and integrated urban living in the Subang Jaya-Sunway education corridor, one of the country's largest higher education hubs.
Haus on 15 is surrounded by major institutions including Taylor's University, Monash University Malaysia, Sunway University, INTI International College and SEGi College Subang Jaya.
The wider Subang Jaya-Sunway catchment is estimated to host more than 100,000 students, making it one of the country's strongest markets for student accommodation.
