KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd's property unit, Gamuda Land, has partnered with Taylor's Assets, the property investment and asset management arm of Taylor's Education Group to redevelop a prime 1.16 hectares freehold commercial site in SS15, Subang Jaya.
With an estimated gross development value of RM500 million, the project will feature a dynamic mixed-use development that includes serviced apartments as well as purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), they said in a joint statement.
The development is designed to meet the rising demand for PBSA and is slated for completion in November 2029.
"The project enjoys close proximity to major lifestyle and healthcare facilities within a 5km radius, including Subang Medical Centre, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Parade, NU Empire, and other key commercial establishments," it added.
It added that connectivity will be a key feature, with convenient access to major highways such as the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and the Subang-Kelana Jaya Bypass, along with important arterial roads like Persiaran Kewajipan, Jalan SS15/7, and Jalan SS15/8.
Gamuda Land chief executive officer Chu Wai Lune said that while large-scale townships remain the company's core focus, urban regeneration projects such as SS15 provide opportunities to add value to established neighbourhoods through smart design, improved connectivity, and better integration.
"With a carefully planned mix of serviced apartments, PBSA, and retail, all designed with liveability, accessibility and community in mind, the development will rejuvenate a well-loved part of Subang Jaya," he adds.
Taylor's Education Group executive chairman Datuk Loy Teik Ngan said the redevelopment will breathe new life into the heart of Subang Jaya while reinforcing its role as a vibrant community hub.
He added that the project will contribute 401 bedrooms to the group's PBSA portfolio, aligning with its goal to expand student accommodation offerings in line with growing demand.
"In doing so, the development enhances Taylor's ability to respond to market needs with flexibility and foresight.
"At the same time, Taylor's remains committed to providing a safe and secure living environment for students, entrenching Subang Jaya's position as Malaysia's renowned education hub," Loy said.
